The reconstruction of the hotel foresees the demolition of the connecting element between the old and the new part of the building, laundry room, utility room with an open terrace, a carport in front of the south entrance and the restaurant, and construction of a new connecting element between the two parts of the building.
Poslovni.hr reports that tourist company Jadran d.d. from Crikvenica, who owns 8 hotels, two car-camps and a holiday village on the Crikvenica Riviera, began to work on the renovation of the Hotel Esplanade in Crikvenica.
The investment is worth over 35 million kuna which provides for the complete reconstruction of the hotel that has already secured a building permit. After the renovation, the Hotel Esplanade will operate with 38 units and additional amenities such as a wellness area, an outdoor swimming pool and conference rooms, and will be positioned as a family resort hotel with a high class rating of 4+ stars, with highly individualized service for guests with more spending power.
“We are very pleased that this reconstruction will restore the former glory of the Jadran’s pearl. The hotel is situated in an exclusive location which will be an indicator of the highest standards that we in the Adriatic are willing to offer to even the most demanding guests. According to our projections, the hotel will operate a minimum of eight months a year, and guests will be attracted to the additional facilities such as wellness, which will enrich the offer of the destination itself. The Strategic Business Plan envisages that the Hotel Esplanade is the best hotel in the group, and the size of units and equipment will meet the requirements for 5 stars. However, at the moment we are focused on stabilizing the market with 4 stars, and after further investments we can upgrade the entire destination, and we will consider the option of raising the Esplanade to 5 stars,” said Dino Manestar, CEO of Jadran d.d.
The reconstruction foresees the demolition of the connecting element between the old and the new part of the building, laundry room, utility room with an open terrace, a carport in front of the south entrance and the restaurant, and construction of a new connecting element between the two parts of the building. In addition, the fire stairways and elevators will be extended, the kitchen will be upgraded – connecting the reception area to the space outside the pool, and special attention will be devoted to the interior design of the hotel to contain elements of Crikvenica’s history, from the Roman period to present day. In addition, nearly every room will be uniquely designed and decorated in accordance with modern design in the new part of the hotel.
Hotel Esplanade is located in the central part of the Crikvenica promenade. The old hotel was built in 1929, with a new section added in 1960. In early 2011, the hotel caught fire after which a new part of the hotel was built with 64 rooms, while the old part of the hotel remained out of order. The Hotel Esplanade has so far has been categorized as a three-star hotel.
