October 11, 2018 – Another great promotional video from the heart of inland Dalmatia – meet Vrlika.
Soon after I started the Total Croatia project on Hvar and then in Split, I was asked to blog for the Central Dalmatia Tourist Board. It has been an enjoyable experience, and also perhaps the reason that our project expanded into TCN today.
Having been focused on Split and Hvar almost exclusively, my knowledge of the rest of Central Dalmatia (and Croatia) was somewhat poor, and my new assignment got me out into the field, behind those mountains near Split.
Boy, what I had been missing! Every town there had its own story, attractions and unique selling points. The lakes of Imotski, the Roman remains in Trilj, the Alka tradition of Sinj, the fortress of Klis, the 600-year-old mills of Grab, the incredible Vranjaca cave in Dugopolje.
And a small town I had not yet come across – Vrlika. A town which had its own outdoor opera every year, whose water attractions included the source of life in Dalmatia, the Cetina River, as well as Lake Peruca, a town of history, tradition, heritage and abundant nature.
After a few visits to the region, Total Inland Dalmatia was born, and it has been a lot of fun writing about this lesser-known region over the years, and I encourage you to visit.
Check out the latest new promo video from Vrlika to see what you are missing.
