A stunning new promotional video about the city on the right bank of the Drava river.
On Monday, the Faculty of Economics in Osijek (EFOS) presented a brand new tourism film titled ”Walking Osijek”. The video was created by a group of young students at the Faculty of Economics and reveals the beauty of the river town, reports Osijek 031 on October 1, 2018.

The six-minute promotional video, which is also in English, is the work of students in their final year of graduate studies, and young videographer Matija Pospihalj, who captures shots from above and below and was responsible for the complete direction of the video.
The English language script was compiled by EFOS students in cooperation with Professor Sandom Kativić Čaušić, namely Antonio Kursar, Ivan Kovač, Nikolina Džanko, Iva Bilić, Mislav Šljivac, Jelena Knežević, Iva Kreninger, and Mirela Čuk. All students also appear in the film as actors.
As Professor Kativić Čaušić pointed out, the young ‘marketers’ recorded the promotional film to correct the fact that there was no professional video about the tourist attractions of Osijek in English. According to Čaušić, this film is an example of encouraging the social responsibility of students for the benefit of the entire community, is realized solely by them volunteering, and represents another position of the city on the European map of tourist destinations.
The film features the water gate, museums, squares, the fortress, parks, secession buildings, and many other locations the young filmmakers found pertinent to show viewers.
Director of the City of Osijek Tourist Board, Saša Uranjek, emphasized that this film aims not only to attract foreign tourists to the city but also actively influences the promotion of the local community’s awareness of their own heritage. Uranjek reminded that the cultural and historical heritage, architecture, and natural beauty of the city is based on the sustainable development of Osijek tourism, saying that the students of the University of Osijek should expect further cooperation in the future. Uranek also recalled the city’s tourism achievements, including the recent title of Tourism Patrol champion for continental tourism 2018.
Everyone interested will have the chance to tour Osijek under expert guidance, organized by the Tourist Board, on Saturday, October 6th at 11 am. The tour will begin from the Tourist Board office at Trg Sv. Trojstva 5.
