Known as the ‘green and blue county’, the area unites the best of both worlds, spanning from the woods of Gorski Kotar to the idyllic coast of Kvarner and offering countless opportunities for a memorable stay in every season of the year.
Planning a summer holiday? Look to Opatija, the other Pearl of the Adriatic, or any of the Kvarner islands such as Krk, Cres or Lošinj. Craving an urban feel? There’s Rijeka, one of the biggest harbour cities in Croatia. Not the type to chill at the beach? The region provides plenty of fantastic destinations for hiking, cycling and even skiing – a short drive away from the coast. Where else could you find such diverse scenery?
