Great news for the Dalmatian resort of Zadar!
Just months after Zagreb was voted the best Christmas market in Europe by European Best Destinations, the Dalmatian city of Zadar has followed suit, beating 19 other cities to the title of Best European Destination 2016 for the same website, in results announced on February 11, 2016.
Voting started on January 20 and ran until February 10, and Zadar is in competition with Athens, Prague, Amsterdam, Kotor, Brussels, Paris, Novi Sad, Berlin, Plovdiv, Vienna, Edinburgh, Madrid, Rome, Barcelona, Nicosia, Azores, Nantes, London and Milan. Best European Destinations says of Zadar:
“The city of Zadar is a city of exceptional history and rich cultural heritage, a city of tourism. Our website will try to offer you a complete tourist offer, from searching for an ideal accommodation, autochthonous gourmand delicacies, cultural monuments, a variety of excursion programs and numerous tourist activities that the city offers by combining the beauty of the past and all the privileges that the modern traveller demands.
