As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 24th of September, 2018, one of Croatia’s most popular and well-known tourist attractions is due to undergo a temporary closure.

“Due to the tourist season and the importance of the installment of the Greeting to the Sun (Pozdrav Suncu) to Zadar’s tourist offer, a selected contractor for the renovation, upgrading, and modernisation of the installation, Tiristor, gave the order to have the [upcoming] works suspended until October the 1st, 2018,” said Ana Odvitović from sector for the development of entrepreneurial infrastructure.

At the expiry of this deadline, which is October the 1st this year, the works, which initially began with the preparation of all of the necessary documentation and equipment, will continue and their completion is expected in March 2019.

The scope of work includes the dismantling of the existing equipment followed by the subsequent replacement with new, updated equipment, which implies the proper installation of mechanical resistance against the impact of seawater, the replacement of the system for the generation of lighting effects within the new system, the upgrade of software for the creation of scenographies, an internet connection, and the possibility of activating the aforementioned effects via the internet.

The deadline for conducting the works is March the 31st, 2018. The contractor is the company Tiristor d.o.o. from Zadar, and the contract price of these works stands at 3,987,100 kuna plus VAT, according to a report from the local Zadar portal eZadar.
