Victory in Court for Agrokor: Accounts and Assets of Ivica Todorić and Associates Blocked

An unpleasant surprise on Boxing Day for Agrokor’s former top dog.

As RTL writes on the 26th of December, 2017, all accounts in shares in companies, shares, part of Kulmerovi Dvori and a hunting ground belonging to Ivica Todorić have been blocked in a major win for Agrokor in the courts.

The County Court in Zagreb accepted the request filed by Agrokor’s government appointed extraordinary administration that aside from just Ivica Todorić’s accounts and assets, assets belonging to his former associates against whom investigations remain open, should also be blocked, Net.hr writes.

If proven guilty in the charges opened against them, their assets should adequately cover the eye-watering amount of damages that Agrokor claims to amount to 1.6 billion kuna, while the prosecution estimates that the amount is in actuality closer to 1.3 billion kuna.

After the investigation was opened, the prosecution asked for a blockade of just Ivica Todorić’s assets, as currently only he himself is charged with withdrawing and misappropriating funds from the formerly strong company he was at the helm of for so many years.

Agrokor’s government appointed extraordinary administration, headed by Ante Ramljak, recently requested that assets under the ownership of Ivica Todorić’s former associates and suspects in the messy Agrokor affair – Ivan Crnjac, Tomislav Lučić, Ljerka Puljić, Piruška Canjuga, Mislav Galić, Damir Kuštrak, Marijan Alagic, Alojzija Pandžić, Hrvoje Balent and Ivica Sertić, also be frozen. In a clear victory in the courtroom for Agrokor’s current management, the Zagreb County Court has accepted this request.

Ante Ramljak’s administration has requested that assets belonging to Iva Balent, Ivica Todorić’s daughter, also be blocked, but according to Net.hr, as of yet, there has been no confirmation that her accounts or assets will be frozen.
