Wine Wednesdays in the Basement
The Wine Wednesdays continue with Jokić organic wines from the Benkovac area – February 28
The seal bears the logo with a seagull, grape cluster, vines and founding year – 1906, when the great grandfather of Duško Jokić was in charge of the vines. Guide by the love and passion for wines, in 2007 Duško Jokić returned to his ancestral land, in Lišane Tinjske near Benkovac, the hinterland of Zadar and Biograd at Sea – and begun restoring the vineyards from 0! Ideal, unspoiled soil was preordained for ecological cultivation of vines. They began with Maraština, followed by Chardonnay and Pošip. The winemaking then slowly became a business. Personal affection for white wines determined the first bottles, followed by red wines.

Along with the story of the Jokić family, the following wines will be served combined with bites made by Basement:

Welcome drink
Maraština 2015
Pošip 2015
Rosé 2015
Cuvée 2015

The price is 99 kuna, with mandatory reservations via the number 098 221313 (Zvonko).

Vinoljupci: “Istria in Zagreb” wine tasting – March 1
After the successful presentation of Pelješac winemakers in Zagreb at the beginning of February, the Vinoljupci Association is announcing another wine event. On Thursday, March 1, starting at 18h, Zagreb will host Istrian winemakers who will use good mood and even better drink to chase away winter.

“After our successful first wine tasting surpassed all visitor records, we hope to continue in an equally good atmosphere. Istrian wines and winemakers are adored by the Zagreb wine audience, thus we expect an even bigger number of wine lovers who will join us in defying the double-digit minuses outside and invite spring with the scents and tastes of Istria,” said Irena Lučić, head of the project, and added the event will see eight to ten winemakers. The tasting is taking place with the assistance of the Vinistra Association.
