The Latin Sail regatta lasts for a week and is held every September to mark the day of St. Mihovil, protector of the Murter Island parish. The event is not just about a regatta and ships, but has many workshops for youth aiming to revive old customs and raise awareness with youth to appreciate their cultural heritage. The name Latin Sail refers to the type of sail used by local boat makers for centuries, while the celebration week includes various cultural, entertainment and educational programmes for all ages with an accent on tradition. At the end of the week a regatta is organised along traditional routes.
