Photo of the Day: Man-Made Lake Covers Village

Lake Kruščica is an artificial lake located in Kosinj, in the Lika region. The total lake area is 3.9 square kilometres at average level. Lake Kruščica was created by the damming of the Lika River in 1971 for the purposes of the hydro-electric plant Senj.

It is found in the lower section of the Lika River course. It was named after the Kruščica village which was flooded. In summer months during low water levels the flooded houses and road can be seen.
