The main topic of the fourteenth edition of the ministerial forum will be the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on geopolitical relations and the global economy. Prime Minister Andrej Plenković will open the forum.
EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Borrell will attend the forum along with the foreign ministers of Malta, Slovakia, Slovenia, Albania, Greece, Czech Republic, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Latvia.
In addition to the host, Croatia’s Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman, the EU representative for dialogue with Belgrade and Priština, Miroslav Lajčak. will also attend as well as other diplomats and representatives of international organizations such as OECD and EBRD.
This will be Christian Schmidt’s inaugural appearance at the forum. European Commissioner for Democracy and Demography Dubravka Šuica will also attend the forum along with the Secretary-General of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić.
Three discussion panels will be held on Saturday on the topics of geopolitics in the world following the pandemic, the political situation in the Western Balkans, and economic development in that area through the EU and the Three Seas and China 17+1 initiatives.
The Dubrovnik Summer Festival will open that same evening and the foreign diplomats will attend.
The forum will be held in accordance with epidemiological measures – participants will have to produce COVID certificates. Testing will be available on site.
