Awards were announced at the World Travel Market in London
As it was just reported by Lošinj Hotels & Villas on Friday, November 6 2015, their hotel Bellevue won the Global Wellness Travel Award in the category Best New Spa & Wellness Property.
The 2015 Wellness Travel Awards honour spas, hotels, resorts and retreats around the globe that leave guests healthier when they check out than when they checked in. Awards are given to the top properties on six continents, in 43 countries/regions and in 20 special categories. A panel of 33 wellness travel experts nominated 509 nominees for the awards and 273 were named finalists. Over 10,000 consumers voted to determine the winners.
Awards were presented at a press event held at the World Travel Market in London. Inaugurated in 2014, the Wellness Travel Awards recognize the demand for healthier travel options and honour hotels, resorts, destination spas and retreats worldwide offering the best wellness vacations and experiences.
Hotel Bellevue in Lošinj became the first Croatian hotel to win this global award. Member of the Board of Jadranka hotels Goran Filipović commented on the accolade: “This award proves that we are now among the best and most prestigious hotels in the world, and the island of Lošinj has confirmed its position on the global tourism map”.
After its reconstruction, hotel Bellevue reopened in July 2014 and during its reconstruction special attention was given to Spa and Wellness facilities with specially designed themed and ritual programmes.
