Not too long ago, the only burgers Croatia was known to have were the ones at fast food shops. Today, Croatia is currently going through a burger uprising, and with that, we are able to introduce you to the first ever Croatian burger festival set to take place next month.
Whether we eat them as a comfort food, we indulge in them as expats, or are locals finally experiencing the sweet taste of a real juicy burger (with all of the right fixings), one thing is for certain – burgers are taking over in Croatia.
Perhaps the city most known for their burger revolution is Zagreb, and trust us, many on the coast have been known to make trips to the capital for some of their quality ground and round delights.
With all of that said, it’s no surprise then that Zagreb will be turned into a burger mecca for the first ever burger festival this September.
This “first of its kind” festival will span over 11 days, with patrons enjoying not only a variety of some of the best Zagreb burgers and burger bars, but also drinks, live music, and plenty of all around entertainment.
Zagreb Burger Festival will take place in the heart of Strossmayer Park from September 15-25. Perhaps other Croatian cities will soon follow suit?
