Croatia welcomes yet another airline.
And still they keep coming…
One more flight announcement for Croatia’s busy Dalmatian coast for the 2016 season, as Germania has announced it is entering the Croatian market for the first time, reports Aerocroatia on January 9, 2016.
The Berlin-based carrier will commence its Croatian adventure with a twice-weekly flight from Zurich to Split, with the first flight scheduled for June 6. The service will continue through Dalmatia’s busy peak season until the end of October (see timetable below).
Dalmatia’s three coastal airports of Split, Zadar and Dubrovnik have all seen significant increases in passenger numbers and new airlines in recent years, as airlines respond to the increasing demand and interest in tourism in Croatia. The arrival of the first scheduled seaplane service in modern European history in 2014 has given tourism an extra dimension, and European Coastal Airlines operates onward flights from both Split and Zadar airports (among others) to local destinations to several islands, along Croatia’s Adriatic coast, as well as routes from Split to both Ancona and Pescara in Italy.
