After the excellent tourist results achieved in 2016, the Tourist Board of Rijeka and Opatija, in preparation for the upcoming year, have devised and issued a joint tourist card – Rijeka & Opatija Tourist Card.
The card enables visitors to a number of benefits in both cities and the aim behind its issuance is to increase the consumption, visits to cultural and historical institutions and attractions, and to further promote and better connect the destinations and show the competitiveness of the offer of Rijeka and Opatija, reports HRTurizam on 20 December 2016.
The Rijeka & Opatija Tourist Card comes in three versions – as a card for 24, 48 and 72 hours – and visitors in the selected period of time will be allowed free travel on public transport and tourist buses, free admission to the museums of Rijeka and Opatija, favorable prices to visit the town’s attractions, and discounts at many restaurants, shops, souvenir shops, catering facilities and service industries.
“The project with the issuing of this card is not yet complete, but the list of contracts where the card can be used is growing with time and thus visitors of Rijeka and Opatija will be provided a comfortable and easier stay in these two destinations. The Rijeka & Opatija Tourist Card will also take part in activities, in addition to providing additional benefits to visitors during the summer season, and is aimed at the extension of the pre and post season,” said the Rijeka Tourist Board.
In addition to the card, customers will receive a free map of Rijeka and Opatija with marked places where the card can be used. Rijeka & Opatija Tourist Card is activated at first use and the price of the card for 24 hours will amount to 50 kuna, for 48 hours the cost will be 80 kuna, and a card for 72 hours will cost 100 kuna.
Travel cards can be purchased at the Tourist Information Center of Rijeka and Opatija, in hotels, partners, and travel agencies, and a complete list of locations can be found on the official website of Rijeka & Opatija Tourist Card
