The movie “Lost in London” will star Harrelson as lead actor, first time director and scenario writer, joined by Cvitešić, Owen Wilson and Willie Nelson
Zrinka Cvitešić continues to successfully build her international career. The 37-year-old Karlovac native is set to star in the new movie by Woody Harrelson, Jutarnji List reported on January 11, 2017.
“The entire movie will be filmed in only two hours. It will either be a great success or a great fail, but in any case this project will be very interesting,” Harrelson said in the trailer for “Lost in London.”
The scenario follows a crazy night of events, with many autobiographical elements from the life of the actor who came to fame through roles in shows “Cheers” and “True Detective” and movie roles in “Indecent Offer,” “White Men Can’t Jump,” “Hunger Games,” “Natural Born Killers”… The story begins at the end of a theatre show when Harrelson, laying himself, wants to return home to his family, but on the way comes across many strange people who attempt to stop him in his intent. Besides Harrelson, the movie stars American actor and comedian Owen Wilson (“Zoolander 2,” “No Escape,” “Grand Budapest Hotel”…) and renowned country singer Willie Nelson who has starred in twenty acting roles.
Zrinka Cvitešić in “Lost in London” plays the unusual Sue Ann, a woman with magic powers, but as intense rehearsals are in progress, her friends are not sure if her movie name will in the end be Sue Ann. She won the role of a mysterious lady at an audition in October. Zrinka was invited, as her friends detail, by Woody Harrelson himself, who was also present at the audition. The movie crew began rehearsals over two months ago.
“The crew are good friends already, an excellent team,” friends have added.
The movie is being shot at locations across London, with rehearsals from morning until night. Zrinka, in accordance with her contract, cannot speak of the movie before the premiere on January 27 in London.
The lead actor, director and scenario writer Woody Harrelson spoke of the movie:
“This movie can precisely be called complete insanity,” said the actor of his directing debut, revealing it was his idea to have the movie played live in over five hundred movie theatres during the filming itself.
“No one has ever been that stupid, until now. This movie is a deep comedy of self-exploration in one of the worst nights of my life,” the actor added, stating the plot is inspired by a real life event from 2002 when Harrelson spent a night in a police cell after demolishing the interior of a taxi which picked him up from a night out in London’s Soho. Harrelson was eventually apprehended after a chase in the second taxi in which he attempted to get away.
“If this project fails, I will jump from the Waterloo Bridge in the centre of London,” promised the actor and director in the trailer, with filming due to begin on January 20 at 2h, appearing simultaneously at 21h on the US East Coast and at 18h on the West Coast. The movie will be a single take, one camera, no cuts or montage.
Ken Kao from the Waypoint Entertainment company is producing (alongside Harrelson), while the Fathon Events company, owners of the largest “live movie theatre” network in North America, will secure the filming broadcast.
“I’ve always loved the theatre and movies so I desired to unite them. When deciding to film in real time, I realised it’s not quite like the theatre as there is no audience, but a broadcast of the filming will hopefully combine the exhilaration of theatre with movies,” said Harrelson, adding that after the broadcast the movie “Lost in London” will go in postproduction and eventually be shown as other movies are.
