The “Night of Museums”, also known as “Noć Muzeja” has been announced for Friday, January 27. The theme this year tackles music, musical giants, and their impact on society.
Under the title “Music, musical giants, and their impact on society”, through a number of events, Night of Museums this year will emphasize the importance of collecting, preserving, and presenting tangible and intangible musical heritage by museums and other institutions to keep heritage in their collections. In addition, it will show the importance of music and its creators in history and in contemporary society.
Night of Museums this year expects collections and thematic exhibitions dedicated to music and musicians – including composers, conductors, educators, artists and other creators – as well as show the effects of individual musicians at social events in history and in present times.
Music has always been a part of this famous museum night over the years, and could be seen in the form of ethnic tunes and classical music concerts to a wide range of contemporary styles of music – always somehow confirming the connection between music and museums.
