If you are a fan of iris flowers, this exhibition will bring you plenty of joy with each painting dedicated to this famous flower. The gallery Artur organized a thematic exhibition titled “Perunike – Bogiše” showcasing works by Ivana Jovanović Trostmann, Petra Held, Šemsa Hadžimahović, Josip Škerlj, Margarita Lujo, Nela Račić, Iskra Valjalo, Tomo Ivanišin, Sandra Sekulić, Josipa Šare, Vedran Grabovac as well as some invited foreign artists.
Perunika, the Croatia word for Iris, is recognized as a national flower. The name Perunika derives from the name of Perun, the highest god (bog – bogiše) of the pantheon and the god of thunder and lighting in Slavic mythology. The story has it that perunika grows only where Perun’s lighting strikes the ground.
The exhibition will run until Friday, April 14th, 2017.
