A massive and well-deserved victory for Hajduk players as they celebrated a win against Dinamo Zagreb in the largest Croatian derby.
A famous match known as the “eternal derby”, Joan Carrillo’s side defeated Dinamo Zagreb 2: 0 with a truly great performance from the first to the last minute of a match, reports Hajduk.hr on April 22, 2017.
While Hajduk fought hard to break Dinamo’s defense, Hajduk’s back line played brilliantly to hold their own, led by the wisdom of goalkeeper Dante Stipica who made sure not a single Dinamo player would see the back of the net.
Around 2,000 Hajduk supporters traveled to Zagreb for the spectacle, and for more than 90 minutes they cheered their boys in white in the south stands of the stadium.
“This is the moment you can only dream of – a goal and victory at Maksimir. The motive was huge, the biggest derby means a lot for the club, for the fans and for ourselves. We managed to transfer all of the coach’s ideas onto the field and in the end, we absolutely deserved to celebrate,” said Hajduk striker Ante Erceg.
Speaking of celebrating, here’s a look at the locker room after the game.
Bravo, Hajduk!
