The company is still not sure how much it owes and to whom.
Having opened the procedure of extraordinary administration over Agrokor and its affiliates and subsidiaries on the basis of the decision of the Commercial Court in Zagreb announced on 10 April 2017, in accordance with the Law on the procedure of extraordinary administration in companies of systemic importance, all Agrokor’s creditors were invited to file their claims with the government-appointed commissioner within 60 days, reports N1 on June 14, 2017.
On June 9, 2017, the 60-day statutory deadline for filing claims from the creditors and suppliers expired. “A total of 9,864 claims were filed in the registering period. So far, 8,038 mail consignments have been received, of which a significant number contain several claims. A large number of creditors were involved in the process of filing their claims in accordance with the established procedures and forms. Many of them reported their claims after adjusting them with individual Agrokor companies involved in the process of extraordinary administration. Additional applications of claims for businesses for which the application deadline was 9 June are expected to arrive this week, if they have been sent by mail or another courier service and carry an appropriate date”, said Marta Bogdanić, an executive director at Agrokor.
Over the past month, the creditors were able to act according to a call to adjust the status of their claims with the debtor companies, as well as to submit their claims in the shortest possible time in order to avoid potential difficulties in the last days. Also, creditors were in communication with Agrokor’s claims application team and received instructions on how to file claims and how to proceed.
All incoming applications will be scanned and digitised, as a preparation for their further processing and verification with individual companies owned by Agrokor. At this moment, the team of about fifty people is involved in the process. Agrokor’s claims database will contain all the necessary information for the further processing of the claims. The deadline for processing the claims is 60 days, followed by the announcement of the amount of individual claims by the Commercial Court.
It is also expected that further applications will be received from some additional special creditors for whom the deadline for application is 20 June 2017.
