A snapshot of life on the exclusive waterfront of Hvar Town with The Yacht Week in town.
The date: June 28, 2017.
The time: 19:50
The location: Restaurant Gariful, Hvar Town’s most famous and exclusive restaurant, named by Giorgio Armani as one of the top seven in the world.
Peak Season.
Number of guests in this exclusive restaurant at this peak dining period in the peak season? Zero.
Next door, the once exclusive Carpe Diem bar – which used to be synonymous with the best nightlife on the Adriatic, with an A-list celeb VIP area, but today accepts anyone with a pulse (ok, pulse not necessary) – is hosting one of its regular parties for The Yacht Week, from 17:00 – 20:00.
Rather than subjecting customers to the noise and personality of The Yacht Week, it appears that exclusive Gariful would prefer to stay empty for the time necessary for its ‘exclusive’ neighbour to finish the party, and so no guests in peak season before The Yacht Week is finished.
But there is always hope that several hundred partying people are a little bit hungry after a long day of boozing and partying. But does Gariful offer pizza, the dinner of desire from the video above.
But before dinner, a little drama is necessary, or it wouldn’t be a real night out. We are not yet at 20:00.
Pizza Man delivers, and the elite guests on Hvar Town’s luxury waterfront are sated.
Meanwhile, as the elite guests from The Yacht Week take their quality custom to the next stage of the elite evening, life on the exclusive waterfront returns to normal – the quality restaurant filling, the once elite nightspot, devoid of artificial props such as The Yacht Week, a little emptier.
One day, someone will explain what benefits The Yacht Week brings to Hvar Town.
We have pizza!
