A surprise for Croatian skier Ivica Kostelic on holiday on Mljet.
World-famous skier Ivica Kostelić shared with his Facebook fans an unusual story that happened to him during a vacation on the island of Mljet, according to an article in Index.hr on August 1, 2015. The best Croatian skier found a message in a bottle floating in the sea. He wrote that he was delighted to find such a message these days when everyone communicates using only social networks.
“We took a bottle to throw it into a garbage bin, but we noticed that in it there was a piece of paper with a message! That’s something that we used to do when we were kids and when there were no social networks. The old pirate custom with a message in a bottle + modern social networks = great combination for meeting new people”, wrote Ivica who posted a photograph of the bottle and the message in it.
The message was sent from the island of Mrkan “where no grapes grow, but there is still some great red wine”. Ivica revealed that he will write a message as well, put it in a bottle and send it on a journey around the Mediterranean.
“Maybe it will come to the next bay, the next island… or maybe to another country, who knows. Wherever you are, if you have the opportunity, do the same”, wrote Kostelić.
