Zagreb is upping their hotel game with the addition of new more hotels.
The Zagreb City Hotels company, which runs the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Zagreb, plans to open two more hotels that will operate under the Hilton brand over the next two years, reports Poslovni.hr on December 13, 2017.
Visitors should first be able to find a brand new Canopy by Hilton hotel at the Branimir Center, set to open their doors in the middle of next year. After Reykjavik, this will be the second Canopy hotel in the world. While at Radnička, as part of a new business complex, the Hilton Garden Inn will open in the second half of 2019. Both hotels will have an official 4-star rating, and the company will invest 10 million euros, said Josipa Jutt Ferlan, director of Zagreb City Hotels and Cluster General Manager for all three Hilton hotels in Zagreb.
Canopy by Hilton is an upscale lifestyle brand with a high-level design featuring a fusion of international standards and local features. Focused on a more demanding market, it is positioned right after the luxury brands Waldorf Astoria and Conrad. Zagreb will be the second city in Europe to do business with Canopy by Hilton, right after Reykjavik and before London, Paris and Madrid.
The Hilton Garden Inn Hotel is a focus service brand and market-oriented to a broader audience of guests. Within the new Zagreb hotel, there are plans that the last 8th floors will open a congress-banquet center with five halls, the largest of which can receive 400 visitors – fit with a terrace and view of the Upper Town. Zagreb will thus get a new state-of-the-art congress hall, as well as a new attractive venue for weddings and other banqueting events, the company said.
“Because the three mentioned hotels (DoubleTree by Hilton, Canopy by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn) are focused on three different market niches, the total capacity of approximately 460 rooms will be highly market-diversified. And the Canopy and Garden Inn, like Doubletree at the time, are very innovative in their concept, are accepted well by the market, and are therefore successful in business. It is certain that by entering our market, we will improve the hotel industry not only in Zagreb but also in Croatia,” said Josip Jutt Ferlan.
The Canopy hotel will open in the building where hotel Arcotel will leave, while Zagreb City Hotels, owned by Hrvoje Pezić, rented space from Supernova, a new owner of the Branimir Center. The investor in the new complex on Radnička, where the Garden Inn will be, also sees Pezić’s involvement. For the Radnička complex, a third of which will comprise of the hotel, Pezić will invest 45m euros.
The design for both Hilton hotels has been given to studio Franić Šekoranja – a studio that has become accredited Hilton designers, enabling them to design Hilton hotels all over the world.
