Uber has proven even more popular for users during the busy holiday season – here’s how.
During this year’s Advent, the number of domestic Uber users is three times higher than the previous year. The most significant increase is recorded in Zagreb and Split, where more and more customers decide to visit Advent via Uber instead of a personal car. At the same time, Uber was used by visitors from 98 countries around the world, reports Dalmatinski Portal on January 11, 2018.
Thus, during Advent in Zagreb, Uber was used by tourists from 94 countries, and compared to 2016, the app was used 2.5 times more by foreigners. Apart from Zagreb, Uber was used even more during Advent in other Croatian cities. On the coast, Uber was used 3 times more by foreigners than in the previous year by users from 77 countries, indicating that Uber is appealing on the coast even during the winter months.

During December, which was the most visited tourist season besides the summer, Uber was used mostly by tourists from the USA, Germany, the U.K., Austria, Switzerland, France and Italy. Similar results were recorded on the coast, with the addition of visitors from Spain and Australia.
Apart from tourists, Croatian citizens also showed an extraordinary interest in Uber this year, and today, the app has around 150,000 users. Since Uber’s arrival in Croatia, the application has been used by tourists from 124 countries. This exceptional tourist interest confirms once again that Uber is an excellent complement to the tourist offer of all of Croatia, as well as to tourists and the local population, providing an additional, easy option for transport around each city.
According to the Croatian Tourist Board, Zagreb was the tourist champion of Croatia in December. The best advent in Europe was visited by 110,707 tourists who realized 199,752 overnight stays, which means that 23 percent more guests arrived in the metropolis this December compared to the same month last year.
