Property prices in Croatia continue to fall.
According to the analysis of the portal Njuškalo (on line classifieds), conducted on a sample of 157,000 real estate adds in July 2015, prices have shown a decrease of one percent compared to the same month last year, according to a report in Poslovni.hr on August 5, 2015.
Compared to July 2011, prices fell five percent. The asking price has decreased in most of the country, except for Primorje-Gorski Kotar region, Varazdin and Lika – which have seen an increase in asking prices of real estate advertised. The largest fall in prices on an annual basis is present in counties in the continental Croatia and especially in Slavonia. In Pozega-Slavonia County the fall of advertised prices is as much as 15%.
As far as the county with the lowest prices, the situation was unchanged: in Vukovar-Srijem, Virovitica-Podravina and Pozega-Slavonia County are the lowest asking prices per square meter. The average price of homes in Pozega-Slavonia County is 373 euros per square meter. In Zagreb, average price per square meter for the house in July was advertised at 1,282 euros: a drop of six percent compared to the same month in 2014. When it comes to apartments, the average price per square meter was 1,592 euros, or one percent less than the same month in the previous year.
The counties by the sea are seeing a slight increase but that is usually of seasonal character.
