Are Kvarner and Trieste about to come one step closer?
As Morski writes on the 2nd of February, 2018, the overall objective of the project is to improve maritime and multimodal transport services between Croatia and Italy, in order to create alternative road transport through the capitalisation of the results of the ”EA SEA WAY” project in order to establish more quality and sustainable cross-border links.
In Mali Lošinj, a working meeting was held in accordance with the MOSES project: Maritime and MultimOdal transport services based on the Ea Sea Way project, which was approved for funding under the INTERREG Cross-Border Cooperation Program Italy-Croatia 2014-2020 .
At the meeting, there was talk about the establishment of a seasonal sea line regarding ports in the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region in Italy, and Istria and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County here in Croatia.
According to Novi List and Portal Rijecanin, discussions about the frequency, line navigation and the characteristics of the line took place. The participants of the meeting also visited the ports of Mali Lošinj and Susak to determine the technical requirements for the introduction of the line.
Representatives of Mali Lošinj, the Croatian Ministry of Tourism, Mali Lošinj County Port Authority and representatives of Italian partners in the project participated in the meeting, along with representatives of the Croatian County of Primorje-Gorski Kotar.
The duration of the MOSES project is 18 months, its total value is 1,175,085.00 euro, and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County’s share amounts to 312,850.00 euro.
