Pension Fund Assets Reach 93 Billion Kuna

ZAGREB, April 30, 2018 – A total of 1.86 million people paid contributions to the four compulsory pension funds in Croatia at the end of March 2018, which was 65,000 more than a year before, and the assets of those funds reached 93 billion kuna, according to figures released by the Croatian financial services regulator HANFA on Monday.

The AZ OMF fund had the largest number of compulsory contributors, 648,000, and Reiffeisen OMF followed by 561,000. The other two – PBZ/CO and Erste Plavi – had 346,000 and 309,000 respectively.

The number of Croatians covered by the superannuation scheme increased by 3,351 contributors or 0.17% from February to March.

Throughout March, 506.6 million kuna in net contributions were paid into the four funds, which was 9.68% or 44.7 million kuna more than in March 2017.

In the last 15 years, 68.5 billion kuna has been paid in net contributions as part of the superannuation scheme in Croatia.

The funds’ assets increased by 7.7 billion kuna or 9% to 92.8 billion kuna at the end of March 2018 compared to March 2017.
