From Dubrovnik to Rovinj, Break Time dominates the Croatian coast.
To say that 2018 has been a successful year for the Break Time team is an understatement. From the humble beginnings of their first shop in Split in 2015 to a Dubrovnik location in 2017, Break Time duo Mirela and Leonard saw no chance of slowing down this year. With momentum and determination, Break Time’s first shop outside of Dalmatia opened in Poreč just a few months ago, and without hesitation, the second Istria location quickly came to fruition. On Friday, June 1, 2018, Break Time officially welcomed their fourth location, giving Poreč a sibling in the new region – hello, Rovinj!
“We visited Rovinj for the first time in September last year. First of all, we were totally surprised about how different it was from Dalmatia…it looked so much more like Italy, it had such a romantic, charming vibe and we loved getting lost on those small streets and talked about how we would love to have a shop there. When we found the Arsenale 10 space, we decided on the spot – this is going to be the location for our fourth shop,” said Break Time owners Mirela and Leonard.
What can we expect to see at the new Rovinj location?
“Although it is becoming increasingly difficult for my partner, Leonard, to keep up with the production side (since he is the only one making every Break Time piece of jewelry), Rovinj will have all of our collections, same as we do for the other three shops (Split, Dubrovnik, and Poreč). It is true that at any given point we might be out of a model in a certain color or size, but we trust that our customers will still find something they will love among the over 200 different models and color combinations we have.”
And the dynamic duo’s plans for the future?
“We basically doubled our location number from year to year – from 1 in Split at the end of 2015 to 2 in 2017 when we added Dubrovnik, and to 4 this year when we opened two Istria locations. So, if we were to continue the trend, in 2019, the plan would be to open four more locations. However, we have learned to change our course depending on what’s in front of us, so we are also curious to see what the future will bring. One thing we would like to do is to open a location in Zagreb, where we have a lot of fans who we can only currently reach us via our online shop. If we find a cool location, Break Time Zagreb might be next,” concluded Mirela and Leonard.
