Happy birthday to one of the most popular museums in the town.
The Museum of Illusions with over 70 different exhibits has significantly enriched the tourist and cultural offer of Zagreb. It provides an intriguing visual, sensual and educational experience in a fun adventure aimed at all generations of visitors, and it has in recent day celebrated its third anniversary.
With the help of attractive and entertaining “tricks”, locals and guests can learn a bit about the mind, perception, human brain and science. They leave the museum with a greater understanding of why the eyes sometimes see things which the brain does not understand.
Visitors can explore the hologram collection, experience how they can turn into a giant in a moment, or proceed to the other corner of the Ames room to become a dwarf. They can also return to their childhood by looking through a large kaleidoscope or test their brain cells in a clever playroom.
In addition to the birthday celebrations, the museum is also celebrating an expansion to other countries. On 22 May, the museum opened the doors of its branch in neighbouring Serbia, in the centre of Belgrade at 11 Nušićeva Street. After Zadar, Ljubljana, Vienna, Oman, and Belgrade, the Museum of Illusion is opening also in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
This means that this unique Croatian museum has expanded to a total of seven cities around the world, with the opening of branches in many other cities coming soon.
As for the Zagreb headquarters, the Museum of Illusions at 72 Ilica Street is open daily from 9 am to 10 pm.
