Didn’t make it to Russia this year? Don’t worry.
The Croatian Football Federation announced this morning at 1 am that 1,230 tickets for the World Cup final were released for public sale. The tickets became available to FIFA and thus HNS on late Friday evening after fans of other national teams gave up their seats. But the bad news? The tickets quickly sold out, reports Gol.hr on July 14, 2018.
The Croatian Football Federation was pleased to announce that 1,230 tickets for the World Cup final were released to the public, though, unfortunately, Croatian media reported this morning that tickets had sold out in just 30 minutes. So, it looks like all of us that missed out will have to find the biggest screen in town – but that won’t be hard.
After the historic victory over England, all of Croatia and Croatians around the world await France in the World Cup final on Sunday, which still doesn’t feel like reality.
On Saturday and Sunday, at least seven charter flights with about 1,500 fans will travel from Zagreb to Moscow, according to local travel agencies.
According to information from the largest domestic agencies, which organize weekend charter flights to Moscow and sell and buy airline tickets for various airlines for direct and indirect flights, there are hundreds of inquiries from Croatian football fans in Croatia and BiH.
“There have been a lot of people asking for flights to Moscow for the World Cup final over the last few days, both from corporate clients and from private individuals, but the final stage, i.e. the sale, depends to a great extent on the tickets,” the Atlas agency said.
In other words, on Friday, fans eagerly awaited for the HNS announcement about the sale of the last, additional contingent of tickets for Croatian fans for the World Cup final.
The Atlas agency added that they will have a charter flight from Zagreb on Sunday, returning after the final match, and that flight is more or less reserved, or final confirmation depends somewhat on tickets. The price of this return flight, with transfers to the stadium and back to the airport in Moscow, is about 12,000 kuna, plus 900 kuna for additional charges.
Four tours to Moscow from Zagreb are planned for the weekend by Ban Tours, an agency of the Croatian Football Federation, which, as it is known, has sold all of about a thousand places, of which nearly 500 are on a single charter flight Sunday, which will fly with a similar number of fans as they did for the semifinal. It is one of the largest passenger aircraft that ever landed at a Croatian airport – the Boeing 777-300 ER – which Ban Tours hired.
Business cooperation with travel agencies was also realized by the national air carrier Croatia Airlines, leasing two charter flights to agencies over the weekend, with a total of about 300 seats. Croatia Airlines does not have direct flights to Moscow, nor introduced them during the football season, but instead leased aircraft to charter flights.
“During the World Cup in Russia, from June 12 to July 12, we rented 13 charters to agencies, flying to the cities in Russia where Croatia played, and with these last two games, we climbed to a total of 15 flights leased to the agencies in accordance with our commitments, given that June and July are in the heart of the intense tourist season with increased flights,” said Croatia Airlines.
There could have been more planes and flights to Russia but, as explained by Uniline’s Boris Žgomba, the managing director of the Pula agency, there was a lack of free aircraft on the European market and it is very difficult to find a lease during the summer and the tourist season. But, they announced two weekend charter flights to Moscow, with the travel to Moscow organized by other agencies, with or without overnight stays, and prices ranging from about 9,000 kuna for a return flight, and up to 11.5 thousand + kuna for arrangements with one, two or more overnight stays.
These agency offers are without tickets. World Cup final ticket prices, however, according to unofficial information from sports and football circles, start from about 3,000 kuna, which is one of the lowest regular tickets prices, up to about 10,000 euro for VIPs with additional services. The World Cup final will be held in Moscow at the Luzhniki stadium, which has a capacity of around 80,000,
