TCN tests out the first shooters bar in Croatia – ShotGun Shooters Bar in Split.
When the TCN boss comes up with the idea for you and your colleague to test out the shots at Split’s finest shooters establishment, you’d think it would be hard to say no. The icing on the cake, however, was that the entire experience would be filmed. As you might imagine, my colleague Filipa and I didn’t quite jump at saying “YES!”
For starters, I am way past my shot-taking prime (to be fair, I don’t think I ever went through one), and being out of shape at a place called ‘ShotGun Shooters Bar’ sounded like a recipe for disaster. While I knew I could get through a couple without flinching (er, maybe), I also knew that the mysterious ingredients in shots called the ’Nipple Twister’, ‘Dracula’s Dick’, or ‘Cum Shot’ would most likely have me hurled over the toilet at 2am with my rainbow-colored night flashing before me.
“Eat a big meal before you go, you’ll be fine,” was one of my thoughts.
“Chug water after every shot,” was another.
“You’re not even 28 yet, harden up and do the damn challenge,” was probably the most accurate.
Slowly warming up to the challenge, Filipa and I set a date for our night of debauchery. And yes, this involved a lot of mental preparation and shot-breathing techniques to ensure we could appreciate all that Shotgun had to offer.
Before we knew it, in the thick of the summer heat, our time had come to take on ShotGun. It was an early Wednesday night, I had family visiting from California I was meant to meet up with after (oops), but without hesitation, we let the buzz begin.
