Attention, drivers…
The topic has been at the forefront of several conversations and the date has been pushed back and altered, but it now seems, despite the potential traffic chaos and confusion that might ensue, the design documentation and the technical aspects of the nature of construction demand the complete shut off of the large Zagreb roundabout to traffic.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 16th of October, 2018, the official closing of the Remetinec roundabout has been announced for the beginning of November this year, but having heard from the City of Zagreb, N1 has reported that the planned beginning of the second phase of reconstruction has been shifted to the very end of the month, the 30th of November, with works likely to last until 2020.
“The design documentation and the technical aspects of the nature of construction demand the complete shut off of the large Zagreb roundabout to traffic. Because of the provisional regulations, traffic will be transferred to constructed temporary roads, works will be carried out with the construction of two tunnels in the east-west direction, and the reconstruction and the upgrading of the existing roundabout with access roads,” stated Dinko Bilić.
