The Tour of Croatia cycling race will be held for the fifth consecutive time from April 23 to 28, 2019.
The Tour of Croatia race will return this spring to showcase the beautiful scenery of Croatia, reports Gol.hr on December 18, 2018.
The Tour of Croatia Office has confirmed that the six stages of the race will take place over six days, with new cities that have not yet been included in the tour. The new sports manager of the tour was also announced on Monday and is known as the most successful and celebrated Croatian cyclist of all time – Robert Kišerlovski – who after a severe injury at this year’s Tour de France concluded a prosperous sports career.
“Although I was involved in the project since the very beginnings, because of my professional engagement with cycling, I could not participate more actively in the realization of the race. Now, I am very honored, but it is also a great responsibility to bring my knowledge and experiences to focus on the best Tour of Croatia in the future,” said Robert Kišerlovski, adding that he is confident that the race will continue to promote Croatia and cycling well.
The new race director Ivan Črnjarić noted the importance of the race, which is broadcast in 190 countries on all continents of the world.
“For the fifth time, the world will be sent the most beautiful postcard of Croatia and they will witness some of the world’s best cyclists. Once again, we will show how Croatia is the most beautiful when it is united, when all its parts are covered by the race, and I’m sure all citizens will breathe together again and be proud of this unique blend of sport, tourism, and economic promotion of Croatia,” said Ivan Črnjarić. Ivan was also particularly pleased with the forthcoming project and the strong cooperation with the Croatian Bicycle Alliance (HBS). Part of the tour’s income will also be invested in the development of cycling and the youth categories, especially children.
“The Croatian Bicycle Alliance supports every promotion of our sport, and the Tour of Croatia has already become the top international cycling race of professional teams. I am pleased to open a new chapter of cooperation with the organizers of this great sporting event, primarily through the help of young and prospective Croatian bikers,” said HSP President Tomislav Zadro.
