Organized by the Croatian Parliament of Culture with the material support of the Ministry of Culture of Croatia, Sisak-Moslavina County and the City of Sisak hosted the second part of the 24th Meeting of Croatian Folklore Ensembles and Original Groups. The event was held at the Refinery House in Sisak on October 21, 2017.
In the realization of the meeting was the indispensable KUU of Sisak-Moslavina County, the co-organizers the Croatian Association of Composers – ZAMP, and the FA “Ivan Goran Kovačić” from Sisak, while the event was completed with performances by Fanika Marković, folk poet and TS FA “Ivan Goran Kovačić” from Sisak.
About 600 folklore performers from 14 Croatian folk groups and a visiting group from Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the event. The right to participate in the 24th edition of the competition was awarded to organizations who performed in county shows. This year, 16 county shows were included where around 5,705 folk amateurs gathered throughout Croatia.
After the performances were completed, the three-member expert committee, including Ivan Ivančan, Katarina Bušić and Petar Varga, held a roundtable with the participants to declare the ultimate winner of the event.
The Croatian Cultural Council award went to the KUD “Pleter” from Dugopolje, the HSK award was given to KUD “Sv. Juraj”, Draganić (Karlovac County), while Ivana KUD “Sloga – Đurđic” (Bjelovarsko-bilogorska County) was award with the HSK.
The organizer gives thanks to all of the performers, co-organizers, supporters and all of the lovers of folklore who preserve and present the traditional heritage of their region in the best possible way.
