The first Split bicycle path should be done any day now. The bike path worth 230.000 HRK, connecting the eastern entrance to the city with the west coast, as announced earlier, should have been done by now, but according to Dalmacijanews, there is still some work to be done on the Seven Kaštela Street (accross the street from Poljud Stadion) part.
At this part of the road, the yellow line has been drawn, but there are visible cracks as well as patches, which give the impression that the work (at least in this part) was done “sloppy”. Fixing the cracks before drawing the yellow line would probably look little bit better.
The Deputy Mayor Goran Kovačević on this matter:
” Company Cestar draws the path and access lines, and the company Point is in charge of the reparations of the roadway and side-walks. Their mutual deal is not up to me, but the deadline must be respected. The complete path to the west coast should be completed by Wednesday, not later than Thursday morning and on Saturday, together with the Cycling Association, we will have an opening ceremony of the bicycle path.”
