With so many islands along the Adriatic, one of the hardest decisions you’ll have to make when visiting Croatia is “which island will I go to next?”. Although that seems like an easy decision, each island offers a truly different and unique experience, all with their own “not to be missed” qualities. While staying in Split, you are given an abundance of options from taxi boats to day trips, fish picnics to sunset cruises, and plenty of islands right off the marina. With a plain view of island Brač from our riva, we are going to let Brač choose us, and we will choose Vetus Itinera for the perfect tour to take us there.
One thing the island of Brač is known for are the age old domestic delicacies they offer. Vetus Itinera takes you on a gastronomic paradise, parading through Brač’s cuisine, wines, and rich olive oils.
The tour visits the oldest village on the island, known as Škrip. There you will come across a museum that will guide you through the rich history of the island itself. From there, an olive oil museum awaits, with an olive oil tasting to look forward to. The journey then takes you to Kastil Gospodnetic in the village of Dol. From there we will find castellum, a prominent part of the village during the Turkish-Venetian Wars. And finally, traditional Brač food and wine will be enjoyed.

As the castellum is surrounded by vineyards, a walk would surely be in order, finding your way then to the best winery on the island for a tasting. The winemaking process will be shared with you, and you’ll finish off with a big glass and even more domestic delicacies.
