Cafe Bars With A View

Daniela Rogulj

We may feel like a broken record constantly repeating this, but as you all should know by now, there is absolutely no lack of coffee places in the city of Split. One thing we can at least try to differentiate them by is their view, and we’re here to give you some of the best cafe bars with stunning views of Split. From the Adriatic sea to the Diocletian’s palace, we hope you’ll enjoy your next cup of coffee in one of these fine establishments.

First off we have Cafe-Restoran Dvor. Housed in a beautiful old villa above the Firule bay, Dvor sets the mood with romantic gardens, vistas over the Adriatic, and the beach just below your feet. The ambient is something of another world, sitting under jasmine trees to enjoy your beverage, nibbling on a variety of cakes provided by their sister restaurant, Perivoj. Located about a 20 minute walk from the old town on Put Firula 14, we highly recommend you spend your next coffee break in this simply set serenity that is Dvor.

In the middle of Diocletian’s Palace we have Lvxor. You’ve most likely already walked by it hundreds of times as it is set in Peristil, with padded cushions placed around the steps and brightly colored menus drawing your attention. At Lvxor, your eyes are set on the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, and the morning light that shines through the 1700 year old architecture is surely one of the most pleasant ways to enjoy your cup of joe. In the summer they have nightly live music, usually acoustic, making Lvxor wonderful for an adult beverage as well!

Lastly, up the stairs to Marjan hill we have Caffe Bar Vidilica. We can surely say that no terrace in Split offers a better view than this. The entirety of Split is nestled below you. You can see islands out in the distance and the mountains in plain view. Your photos have never looked better and your cup of coffee never tasted so sweet, as here you can bask in the full glory of the ancient town beneath you. Be sure to check out the surrounding neighborhood of Varoš where you can get lost in the old European alleyways surrounding you.
