Sv. Duje celebrations are being further enriched this year with a gastro festival.
This year’s Sv. Duje celebration, while at one point at the brink of cancellation, is now proving to be bigger and better than ever. One of the attractions that will further enrich this year’s program is the addition of the Gastro Get Festival, reports Mreza.hr on April 27, 2017.
On the occasion of Sv. Duje, the Tourist Board of Split and Split restaurateurs have come together to create a feast for the palate within the palace walls. The Gastro Get Festival, which you may recall from last year’s Christmas Advent celebration, returns to honor Sv. Duje by tracing the history, traditions, and local ingredients of our patron saint of Split.
This new culinary backdrop to the festive celebration is thanks to eight Split restaurants in the center of town. For four days (May 4-May 8), the Gastro Get Festival will encourage the people of Split and their guests to taste a special menu based on four “Duje-worthy” ingredients: goat, motar (wild plant), dates and sage
Blending these indigenous and somewhat exotic ingredients together will be a challenge, but each of the eight participating restaurants promises patrons unique, desirable, and different menus, giving your taste buds an explosion of flavors.
The Gastro Get Festival aims to enrich the offer of the Sv. Duje celebration while taking on the task to promote Split as a top gastronomic destination that can compete with the best in the world.
Split restaurateurs will offer their delicacies at affordable prices, giving another gift to the citizens of Split as they observe the biggest festival for their patron saint, Sv. Duje.
