On Earth Day, students, citizens, and scientists around the world are filling the streets to march behind the importance of science and research.
March for Science was an initiative born in the United States in an effort to communicate science as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity. Over 600 cities across the world are choosing to participate in the action today, reports Dalmacija Danas on April 22, 2017.
The March for Science is the first step of a global movement to defend the vital role science plays in our health, safety, economies, and governments.
The march is supported by a number of prominent scientists around the world, including the most famous American scientific association, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
Today, the people of Split joined this global movement and gathered at park Đardin to march for the importance of science. Participants took the streets from Hrvojeva to Peristil, Bosanska to the Fruit Market and ended the march on the Riva.
