One thing that Split is no stranger to: nightlife. One thing that Split locals and tourists both enjoy doing: partying. Today we bring you the plethora of nightlife institutions in the city of Split, whether you want to have a chilled out evening or dance until the early morning hours – fortunately there is something for everyone here.

Kuka: Originally just the bar “Treće Poluvrijeme”, the Kuka extension was added on a few years back, becoming a late night/early morning sanctuary for locals and tourists alike. Although mostly domestic hits are played from the 80’s and more recent years, no one seems to mind and essentially everyone here is dancing and having a good time. Another perk? You can walk to Kuka from the old town, as it is located around the corner from Stari Platz.

Kocka: Located in the basement of the Youth Cultural Center, Kocka is a legendary underground venue hosting punk, electro, drum ’n’ bass and techno.  A concrete venue with perfectly placed graffiti along its surroundings, this club used to only be open in the winter, but are trying their luck at weekend parties throughout this summer. A diverse crowd, everyone comes together behind the same purpose: party.

Bačvice clubs: It’s no surprise to anyone that Bačvice turns into a party mile around midnight when the bars in the old town start winding down. The two most popular clubs on Bačvice are Club Bačvice and Tropic Bar. Club Bačvice hosts harder electronic music with cave dancers to speed up the party. Next door you have Tropic Bar, a relatively small spot that plays everything from domestic music to hip hop. These clubs will remain open until 6am, and midnight is when they begin getting full.

Ghetto Club: Situated in a courtyard on Dosud street, Ghetto club is a swanky, artist hangout where you can expect mellow house music, techno, and a trendy crowd. The interiors of ghetto are dressed with local art, but also set the tone for an underground hang out. Ghetto club will remind you of your cool best friend’s living room, and here you’ll feel right at home.

Imperium: Imperium Restaurant & Lounge bar is located in the heart of the Split harbor. Combining an exclusive restaurant, lounge bar, patisserie and a very popular nightclub, Imperium remains one of the top places to go for a great nightlife in the center of Split. What better way to watch the yachts and ships go by than when you’re parting above them all?

Vanilla: Behind Poljud Stadium, about a 20 minute walk or 5 minute cab ride from the old town, you will find Vanila. Vanilla, a popular spot which is often packed during the summer months, boasts an outdoor terrace and extensive cocktail list. Vanilla hosts live music acts, local djs, and Yacht Week parties.

Hemingway: Also down by the sea near Poljud is Hemingway, a chic club with a trendy crowd. Although this is just the Split Branch, Hemingway clubs can also be found in Zagreb, Opatija and Rijeka. Outside VIP lounges and the longest bar in Split, here you can expect international djs on the program several times a week, and a very crowded club in the summer.

Jungla: At the city end of Ivana Meštrovića near the ACI Marina you will find Jungla. A cafe by day, Jungle transforms after dark into a rock and underground techno and house club, staying open until the very early morning hours.

Kameleon: Even though this club is located in Solin, Kameleon is a favorite amongst Split locals. Just a short drive from the city center, Kameleon is set in the Guliver Energija fitness complex, populated by gym enthusiasts during the day and party people at night. An impressive light show and perfect club vibe, Kameleon has an active calendar bringing in local and international acts, but are closed during summer months.

Judino Drvo: Occasionally open in summer for one off parties but always open in the off season, Judino Drvo is located by the deserted railroad tracks in the Split non-resident suburb of Kopilica. An industrial feel with hipster inviting decor, Judino Drvo has a top quality sound system and one of the hippest crowds in Split. Although not the easiest place to get to since no busses go there, Judino is easily accessible by taxi and boasts plenty of room for parking. Judino will host everything from djs to some of the largest ex-Yu bands to exist.

Quasimodo: Only open in the off season, Quasimodo is located on the second floor of an office block, is minimally decorated, and is Split’s leading venue for indie gigs and dj nights. Hosting everything from concerts to spoken word evenings and comedy shows, Quasi is located right outside of the old town and is a favorite from 18-50 year olds.

O’Hara: Located right on the Zenta waterfront about a 20 minute walk outside of the city center, O’Hara is a rock’n’roll club that brings in everything from reggae to Dalmatian folk.  O’Hara has two floors, a summer terrace, and outside bar allowing plenty of space to dance or to chill out. One of their most famous nights are Monday’s, when they host the evening “Trash” playing hits from the ‘90’s.
