Have you seen the spruced up fountain by Sv. Frane?
The reconstruction of the fountain at Franjo Tudjman square near the church of St. Frane is completed!
The fountain, both visually and functionally, was in very poor condition for years, and its reconstruction will significantly improve the vision of this important part of the city. Behind the reconstruction is the City of Split and the Tourist Board of Split, and the actual reconstruction was carried out by Parks and Recreation, reports Dalmacija Danas on April 10, 2018.
The stone blocks around the fountain itself were also replaced.
The director of Parks and Recreation, Saša Franjkić, said that the people of Split and their guests will now have a modern fountain to enjoy in the heart of the city.
“Instead of the seven nozzles the fountain had before, it now boasts 156 nozzles. The fountain has a built-in engine in its center that gives it its specific shape. We’ve put in place 54 lights that change color at night. We are planning to arrange the nearby lawn and plant flowers soon so that the fountain will shine in its splendor before the new tourist season,” Franjkic said.
