What’s Going On in Split Tonight?

While it may be December and Advent in Split is fully in swing, you’d be surprised at how lively the city is outside of the famous Christmas markets. Here is everything going on in Split tonight, from bars to clubs and everything inbetween on 10 December, 2016.

Music flea market @ Kavana Ovčice – 17:00: Bring your instruments / equipment (or other things related to music) on sale / exchange or come a little thrown around and try out something before the jam session, which begins in 21:00


The Nutcracker @ HNK – 17:00: The Nutcracker is the most performed ballet in the world. With maestro Hari Zlodre, this choreographic vision of The Nutcracker becomes a “mandatory program” for Split ballet lovers in the holiday season


Cabaret Splićanke @ GKM – 20:00: Cabaret is an omnibus of five confessional stories of imaginary “splićanka” told in the style of stand-up comedy with accompanying song and dance. Directed by one of the major directors of the middle generation, Ivan Leo Lemo


Splitski virtuozi: Adventski koncert @ HNK – 20:00: Split virtuosos invite you to Advent Concert in the Foyer conducted by Wladimir Kossjanenko. This year marks the 175th anniversary of the birth of the great Czech composer Antonin Dvorak and the 25th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan. The program of this year’s concerts include rarely performed Biblical songs and thumbnails of Antonin Dvorak, Violin Concerto in D minor Felix Mendelssohn and Johannes Brahms Hungarian dances. For soloists on baritone you have Mary Krnić for the first time in Croatia, and prominent violinist and a guest from Kazakhstan, Arman Mourzagaliev


An evening of board games @ Klub Zona – 20:00: From 20:00 to midnight you will be able to bring your favorite board games or join other players.


Jam Session: Harpoon Blues Band @ Kavana Ovčice – 20:00: Harpoon band invites all musicians of goodwill to jam after the musical flea market.


Karaoke Night @ Chilton – 21:00: Tonight they will celebrate the 101st birthday of Frank Sinatra!

Jazz Trio @ Ghetto Club – 21:30: Performing guitarist Kajo Milišić and Marko Pažanin combined with saxophonist Duje Divićem (all three of them are already known from the Split band REPASSAGE). Gypsy jazz, Latin, bossa nova and folk influences interact in their virtuoso and inspire a gig that certainly will not leave you indifferent.


Recession Party @ Octopus Bowling Center – 21:30: Entertainment by tamburaši and DJ Pajo playing local and national hits.


Repetitor @ Quasimodo – 22:00: Belgrade garage / post-punk / noise-rock trio promotes their new album ‘Where are you’ issued by Slovenian label Moonlee records. The band enjoys a star status in the European alternative scene, gotten with numerous tours and appearances at major European festivals, including all over Russia and China.
