Because any tournament that only comes around every four years deserves all the attention it can get.

Starting today, the 32 best national teams in the world will compete for the title of the world champion. The 2018 World Cup kicks off in Moscow, Russia at 17:00 between Russia and Saudi Arabia – and until July 15, there will be a game (or five) to watch every single day.

Lucky for you, there are more than a few places in Split perfect for your football viewing pleasure, so we thought we’d make a rundown of the places we know for sure will be streaming the games and any other perks you can expect.

Fan Zone at Darlin

Probably the most exciting place to catch a World Cup game this year will be the official World Cup fan zone at Dardin. Not only will every game be projected on a big-screen TV in the park, but food and drink vendors will also be on offer (we hear there will even be Russian specialties), and exciting entertainment will follow the evening games. The fan zone opens today for the kick-off match between Russia and Saudi Arabia.

Pivarij Burger & Beer

Pivarij has announced their own fan zone for the World Cup, where in addition to their 120 different varieties of beer, they’ll have a special menu and plenty of surprises for the month-long tournament.

Para di Šoto at Hotel Slavija

Restaurant Para di Šoto is getting ready for the World Cup with big-screen TVs and air-conditioning, and better yet, you can have a bite off their new summer menu to boot!

Charlies Bar

The most famous backpacker’s bar in Split is getting pumped for the World Cup with decorations and a special opening party tonight where visitors are encouraged to wear the colors of their national team. Charlies will also have White and Black Russians on special for 20 kuna all night!

Split Circus

If you don’t want to be in the crowded center to watch the games, Split Circus in the Firule area is the perfect alternative. Circus will have a large screen inside, and, most importantly, air conditioning.

Fabrique and Terminal F

Sister bars Fabrique and Terminal F serve as great locations for the World Cup as their pub-like food and many TVs make sure there is no bad place to watch a game.

Sanctuary

If you feel like watching your favorite team with a craft beer, fancier cocktail, or a shot of tequila, Sanctuary will surely be a hotspot to catch the games this summer. A lively atmosphere is included!

The Riva

As usual, many of the cafes along the Riva will have TVs set up for your viewing pleasure. Guaranteed to be busy, staking out a spot early is recommended.

To Je To

Another great bar outside of the busy center is To Je To, who will not only be streaming the games, but will also have a Penalty Shots board where you can take shots for 60 kuna! Happy Hour prices will also be extended during game times.

Stay tuned as we will update this space with more information as it comes in!
