Into the Forest Walking Tour

Total Croatia News

If you’re fan of the great outdoors and want to get to know new cities through their nature rather than through their busiest tourist spots, join this tour and go Into the Forest with Secret Zagreb.

You’ll start at Ban Jelačić Square and slowly relax as the noises of the city fade and the asphalt turns into green meadows and pastures, especially along the scenic trail called Dubravkin put that will take you to Cmrok, one of the most popular places to go sleigh riding in winter.

After that you’ll catch a ride in an old-school tram that will give you a chance to rest your feet a little, at least until you get to the foot of Medvednica mountain. Don’t worry, there’s no hiking involved, just a light stroll along a stream. To make things a little less picture perfect, you’ll see abandoned bunkers from World War II and hear stories about what it was like in Croatia during those troubling times.

The tour is about 7 km long, but don’t be intimidated, it’s really a walk in the (metaphorical) park. An additional bonus is that it ends in a restaurant where you can reward yourself for such an active day by trying some of Zagreb’s specialties. The delicious lunch and a drink are included in the price.

The price is 200 kn per person, or 400 kn if you wish to experience this tour all by yourself.
