Second Food Outlet to Open in Zagreb

Total Croatia News

Žabac Food outlet, which took Zagreb by surprise last autumn, is planning expansion.

A new shop in Trešnjevka (Tratinska Street) will open soon, and it will be bigger than the one existing in Tkalčićeva Street, which also means more products on the shelves.

Žabac is a start-up company that sells three types of goods: surplus goods, products that have been damaged in production or which have packaging problems, and products close to expiration date.

Maja and Mario Žamboki are the people behind the project.
“Opening this new shop proves that managed to realize what our market lacks on time and that people recognize that lower prices don’t necessarily mean lower quality. Discounted prices, which are acceptable to most citizens, save money and make a real difference in the family budget.” they said

They also want to put an end to food waste, which is becoming a major issue.

“We feel that reduced prices can save a lot of money, especially if we consider the low purchasing power of our citizens. Even thought the prices are lower, you can still enjoy a number of Croatian and international brands available on our shelves. We are pleased that this project contributed to raising awareness among the citizens and society in general about the problem of food waste.” Mr. Žamboki added.
