The first online market in Zagreb will open in Siget, Novi Zagreb on Friday, Zagreb.info reported yesterday (see the event here).

Go Green market will function over a video call – customers will be able to see everything that the shop assistant, wearing specialized camera glasses, can see. Customers can activate the video call option on various platforms, such as Facebook Messenger, Viber, WhatsApp and Skype.

Alan Slapar, Go Green director (an organization which gathers 700 family farmers) said that this way the customers will be able to choose the exact piece of fruit or vegetable they want and communicate with the shop assistants. He added that there are two pairs of glasses for now, but the plan is to get 120 additional cameras as well, so that the customers will be browse before deciding what to get.
Mr. Slapar said that their goal is to open similar markets all over Croatia, and the next city in line is Čakovec.

Every item on display will be homemade, and there will be frequent tests to check if the labels are true. Customers will also be able to put all suspicious products in a special basket, and those products will be sent to labs for testing. If any inconsistencies are proven, the sellers will face a 70 thousand kn fine and the buyers can get 20 thousand kn in damages.

Even though the official opening takes place on Friday, the products are already available and you can order by telephone or in person, at the market located in Ressel Street.
There are currently 10 shop assistants, and they say that people are slowly beginning to recognize their quality and the advantages of online grocery shopping. The most sought after items are bread and different types of flour.

You can order by dialing +385 1 64 61 200 or online, at  www.gogreen.hr.
