Because any reason to celebrate 150 years is a good one.
On this Monday morning, I struggle out of bed to think about the number ‘150’. Not only is it a clean looking digit and one that impresses standing alone, but 150 years also signifies a momentous period.
For example, 150 years ago, the first ship passed through the Suez Canal, African Americans were granted the right to vote in the District of Colombia, the first political May Day march was held in Chicago, and Hvar introduced organized tourism.
For those of you lucky enough to be on the sunny island of Hvar this evening, you’ll be happy to find an event prepared in honor of this significant milestone.

On Monday, October 16, 2017, the Association of Craftsmen of the City of Hvar invites you all to a fabulous dinner event titled ‘Hvarski stol’ – or ‘Hvar Table’ for the rest of you.
A beautiful dinner party that will begin at 19:00 at the Hvar Pjaca, the wonderful hosts have prepared a Hvar dinner including the specialities of the island paired with, as expected, the most exquisite quality wines from Hvar’s winemakers.
Just because the summer season has come to an end doesn’t mean that the fun has to stop, too.
