If you’re looking to soak up some color this weekend, we have just the right thing for you to do.

You’re probably all aware of the Loggia by now, but if you’re not, let us tell you a bit about one of Hvar town’s most iconic buildings.

The Hvar Loggia, or City Lodge, was built between the 15th and 16th century. While fire severely damaged it during the Turkish invasion of 1571, the Loggia was later restored back to beauty and dressed up by Tripun Bokanić, a master of Renaissance, in the 17th century.

A courthouse during Venetian rule and once a place for public auctions, the Loggia today serves as a place for politicians, the social elite, or, in this case, an exhibition room for art.

This Sunday, Vedra Pejčić will open her very first solo exhibition at the Loggia to crowds of art enthusiasts.

A young citizen of Hvar who has lived on the island for seven years, Pejčić paints acrylic colors on canvas that will captivate all who are lucky enough to experience it.

The young Hvar artist writes:

“My eternal inspiration is the sea and all of its shades, nature, and, of course, the love that drives me.”

Take a break this Sunday evening and head down to the Hvar Loggia for the opening of this first solo exhibition by Vedra.

What better way to support those who make the town of Hvar more vibrant while preserving its tradition and love of culture and art?

The exhibition opens at 19:30 this Sunday, October 15, 2017.
