Hvar island has a long tradition in naturism and there are several FKK beaches on the island, where there is no need for a swimsuite. One of the most famous place is the Camp Nudist in Vrboska. It was here, on the little island Zečevo just opposite the camp, where the whole naturism expansion started many years ago.
As guests of the Nudist Camp explain in the video below, being nude in a camp is just very normal to them. If you accept your body as it is and don´t try to fix it all the time, you will be able to look in the mirror in the morning and say to yourself: Hey, I look good today! And there will be nothing to fix and you will be in peace with yourself. Wise words from the Slovenian lady in the video.
The director of the Nudist Camp Toni Damjanić informs us, that Croatia was actually a top nudist destination in the last century. Today, there is less and less nudist camps or other similar tourism offer, which according to Toni might not be such a smart business decision.
There are of course many prejudices about naturism and nudity, but there was actually never a problem in the camp of any kind. What could cause problems is closing such facilities, as guests interested in naturism are coming even in pre- and after-season, spend their money within the whole destination and are returning guests – very desirable guests.
