The wines of the Svirče Cooperative meet Stari Grad’s newest restaurant – a quality night in store.
The wines of the Svirče Cooperative are great. Known also as PZ Svirče, they produce some of the best organic wines in the country (included a gorgeous oak-aged plavac mali which won organic gold in Germany) and have a range of red, white, rose and dessert wines starting at just 16 kuna a litre to something considerably more expensive.
Restaurant Apolon in Stari Grad opposite the new marina at the end of the old town riva is also great, and I particularly like the wine tasting room built into the rock. Here were my impressions of my first (but not last) visit to Apolon, accompanied by The Independent and winemaker Andro Tomić.
Imagine how much fun could be had if the Svirče Cooperative met Apolon… How about Sunday?
